Learning, consulting, and building used to be three separate things. You would take a course; later you would hire a consultant; later still someone would build the thing. The pieces arrived in order, years apart, and you stitched them together yourself.
That order no longer holds, for work that is moving this fast. The separation is what fails, not the pieces.
So this practice collapses the stack. We learn while doing. Redesign while learning. Build while teaching. Transfer capability while creating value. Not because it is efficient, though it is. Because the work itself no longer rewards the older order.
First, Discovery.
We look at the business and the workflow together. Not only what hurts. Also what matters. Also what you want more of. The point is to find one place where a real change would open several others. That is what a leverage area is, in this practice: not the loudest problem, but the one whose improvement would compound.
Then, Applied Leverage.
We improve that area in whatever form the leverage actually calls for. Sometimes a better way of working is the whole answer. Sometimes a concrete system needs to exist. Usually both. None of these are different businesses. They are different shapes of the same work.
And sometimes, a longer relationship.
If the work wants to continue, it can. Not by default. Only when the leverage is real enough and the fit is clear enough that it makes sense.
The problem is rarely only operational. It is also the condition you are in while doing the work. Overwhelmed, grasping, perfectionistic, over-constricted — no workflow and no AI survives being worked from those states for long. Part of what this practice is for is noticing that, and working with it, not around it.
The unit of this work is not a lesson or a course or a generic framework. It is you, inside your actual workflow, on your actual decisions, for your actual customers. Anything that tries to teach AI in the abstract misses the whole thing.
AI is a medium. It is one of the most significant ones of the last several decades. It is also, at the level of the buying page, the most exhausted word in the language this year. So I use it rarely, and only where it is actually what is happening.
The practice is older than the medium. It will outlast the current hype and the current backlash both.
